Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) / Rotating Ring-Disk Electrode (RRDE) – External & Internal Thread – Customizable
Product Overview
The Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) and Rotating Ring-Disk Electrode (RRDE) are widely used in electrochemical and electrocatalysis research.
By collecting current–potential data from both disk and ring electrodes, RRDE enables detailed analysis of electrochemical characteristics and allows further study of intermediate or final products generated at the disk electrode.
Designed with a robust external thread connection for stable contact and signal transmission, these electrodes are compatible with major brands including Pine Research, Princeton Applied Research, ALS Japan, and Metrohm Autolab.
Customization is available for materials, dimensions, and connection types to suit diverse research needs.
Key Features
- Standard 5 mm disk electrode (custom sizes available)
- Available disk materials: Glassy Carbon, Gold, Platinum, Graphite, Iron, Titanium, Iridium, Copper, and more
- Ring made of Titanium with Glassy Carbon contact
- Outer housing materials: PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) or PEEK (Polyether ether ketone)
- Collection efficiency (RRDE): ~37%
- High stability and excellent conductivity for precise electrochemical measurements
- Compatible with major RDE/RRDE rotation control systems
Advantages of PTFE Housing
- Soft mechanical properties with ultra-low surface energy
- High-temperature resistance: continuous use at 200–260 °C
- Remains flexible at −100 °C
- Excellent chemical resistance — withstands aqua regia and all organic solvents
- Outstanding weather resistance and long aging lifespan
- Low friction coefficient (~0.04), non-stick surface
- Non-toxic, physiologically inert
- Excellent electrical insulation — ideal Class-C insulating material
